Our neighbor, Blue Flax Farm is a community-supported two-acre organic garden. Operating under the principles of Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), Blue Flax Farm is a partnership of mutual commitment between its owner, Megan Warren, and its supporters throughout Teton Valley.

Blue Flax Farm has about 40 share-purchasing members who pay $425 for 16 weeks of garden shares, enjoying the weekly plenty. Megan also sells her produce at the farmers’ markets in Jackson and Driggs. Early greens include lettuce, spinach, sorrel, arugula, herbs and radishes. Peas, beets, carrots, garlic, potatoes and other treats are harvested later in the season. A number of young fruit trees are planted in the garden, and we look forward to their maturing and production.

As Blue Flax Farm is part of Mountainside Village, property owners will have priority to buy shares in Blue Flax Farm. Half shares are available as well for individuals and smaller families. Work shares are another way to contribute to supporting local agriculture, as Megan can always use help weeding and harvesting. Becoming a Blue Flax Farm member creates a responsible relationship between neighbors and the food they eat, the land on which it is grown and those who grow it.
